Join the VCA West Coast Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital team!Location: 18300 Euclid St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Full-Time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts
Salary: $26.50 - $32.00
Swing Differential: $2.00/hour
Overnight Differential: $3.00/hour

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our ECC Department.

As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet caregiver-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so they will partner with us for the care of their companion animals.
You've worked hard for your credentialing, and we want you to use the knowledge that you've invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
- Venipuncture
- Catheter placement
- Radiology
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Physical examinations and patient assessment
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Laboratory work
- Pharmacy
- Patient recovery
- Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients
- Teamwork advocate
- Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures
- Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals
- Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals
- Assisting our Doctor and Technician staff as needed with patient care
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Helping clients and doctors during humane euthanasia
- Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately
- Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, referring veterinarians, clients, and patients; ability to readily learn new procedures, and must be adaptable
- Ability to work independently while supporting a busy, high-producing department
- Compassion for pets and people, understanding and respect for others' choices.
- The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with allergens, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
