Company Overview
The San Francisco SPCA maintains two large medical practices within the city of San Francisco, California. Our main Mission Campus is located in the Mission neighborhood on Alabama Street. It houses our state-of-the -art shelter and adoptions center, a S/N Clinic, behavior department and extensive volunteer and community programs. Our Pac Heights campus is located on Fillmore Street serving the 24 hour emergent and preventative care care needs of a large clientele. The Pacific Heights location is also home to our Feline Wellness Center. We are looking for candidates to join us in our goal of providing extraordinary care to all pets in San Francisco. We have led our city to become one of the most humane cities in the world and continue to build a strong culture of collegiality and mentorship for our staff. We accomplished this through dedication, innovation, and collaboration; we are looking to hire bright, passionate people who embrace those values.
Company History
Since 1868 (we just celebrated our 150 year anniversary!), the San Francisco SPCA has advocated for the humane treatment of animals. The hospital has provided exceptional patient and client care to privately owned pets in the Bay Area for decades, and we are always pushing the boundaries on our medicine and client service. We currently are home to a staff of approximately 40 veterinarians and are expecting to continue to grow and serve our community. We recently announced the SF SPCA Vision and Goals for 2030 that include access to care: By 2030, all San Francisco pet guardians will have access to quality preventative care for their pets, regardless of income. In pursuit of this goal, we will expand and deepen our services in order to subsidize care for all. We are excited to bring veterinarians on board who want to be a part of this enterprise!
Over time, we have fostered a loyal clientele who share our desire to do what is best for their beloved furry companions. In addition to serving full paying clients, the San Francisco SPCA provides a financial assistance program allowing veterinarians to provide care for many clients who have no veterinary care options available to them. Our ability to provide these services to the local community in need leads to immense professional and personal gratification for our staff veterinarians.
