Company Profile
Newtown Veterinary Hospital, LLC
Company Overview
Owner vision statement:
“The Newtown Veterinary Hospital will be an organization which recognizes and appreciates the contributions of EVERY employee. It will be a place where everyone acknowledges each other’s strengths and respectfully and constructively supports one another’s weaknesses. It will be a place where every employee is encouraged to grow for the benefit of each individual, the hospital, the animals we care for and the communities we live in.
We will work in a state-of-the-art facility reflecting the quality of medicine and surgery options we offer. We will create a welcoming environment to put people and pets at ease. Entering the hospital will be such a positive experience that people will not want to leave for fear of a harsher world outside.
We will practice at such a high level and educate clients to such a degree that no pet will die of a preventable or treatable disease/disorder. Our patients will live longer, healthier lives which will impact their owner’s quality and length of life. We will be so successful at achieving these goals that all veterinary care professionals will want to work with us and those who cannot work with us will try to be like us.”

Overview: We are a 7 doctor (5 to 5.5 FTE) suburban, community based practice who prides itself on staying ahead of the curve. Our doctors are well supported and highly productive with excellent work/life balance. Our staff to doctor ratio is currently 4.7:1. Patients are seen by appointment with most appointments being scheduled for 20-30 minutes. Our clients are middle to upper middle income, well educated who consider their pets part of the family. They are willing to do what we recommend but expect us to explain why we recommend it. Our staff is highly trained to allow doctors to focus on being a doctor. Doctor experience ranges from more than 30 years to 2 with tenures of 2 x <2 years, 2 > 10 years, 2 > 20 years and owner almost 30 years. We are supported by 2 outstanding specialty hospitals within 7 miles but offer many more advanced procedures to give clients the choice to see a specialist or have surgery with us (ACL, fracture repair - pins and wires, GDV, splenectomy, PU, anal gland removal, advanced oral surgery to name a few). Mentorship available for new or recent graduates, seasoned docs wanting to learn new skills, even docs interested in management or future practice owners.
Company History
We have been serving the citizens of Newtown, PA and the surrounding communities with an owner living in Newtown PA since 1936. Despite our tremendous growth over the past 30 years and our size, we retain the small-town vet feel by cultivating client/doctor relationships and bonding and by continuing to give back through community events and service. Our current state of the art, 10,000sf facility is the 5th home of Newtown Vet since 1936.
We are open until 8pm and have Saturday hours but are located within 7 miles of TWO referral centers and have multiple other options within 30–40-minute drive. We do not require after hours on call and we are currently not staffed overnight so hospitalized cases requiring overnight care are transferred. We try to save enough appointment slots for same day cases to avoid “fit in” overbooking but there is clearly enough demand in our area to support an urgent care which we will consider when we can appropriately staff it. We do not fully utilize our incredible facility. There is tremendous potential for growth and expanded services. Our current doctors are well supported with a staff: doctor of 4.5:1.
